Water users worried, Snowpack 70% of normal
The 82nd Annual Water Users Association is meeting at the Riverside Hotel in Boise. Despite a steady stream of snow across Idaho, Snowpack levels are just 70 percent of normal. Brian Olmstead of Twin Falls Canal Company says the numbers are concerning for farmers across the state:
The El Nino weather pattern has split the flow of storms, in the past 3 years most of Idaho’s snowpack has come in March and April, so keep your fingers crossed.
Corn futures open the Thursday session with most contracts steady to a cent higher as March futures were down a quarter percent.March corn futures in Chicago starts up at $3.78, down 1cent.
Wheat futures open with most contracts 3 cents higher. March CBOT opens up at $5.26 up 5 cents.
